“Engineering, electrical and mechanical, is positive in results. There is scarcely a subject that cannot be mathematically treated and the effects calculated or the results determined beforehand from the available theoretical and practical data. The carrying out into practise of a crude idea as is being generally done is, I hold, nothing but a waste of energy, money and time.” - Nikola Tesla
I drafted a site service pland for a chicane on Haist street in Pelham, Ontario. The purpose of the plan was to submit it to the city so that city council can determine whether it needed to be removed (due to multiple complaints). I used AutoCAD for the plan where I maintained scale and accuracy of the chicane as well as the surrounding areas.
For the steel company, Dofasco, in Hamilton, I had to update many of the legacy Microsoft Accesss databases to the current implementation of Microsoft SQL Server. Data integrity had to be maintained across the hundreds of databases for the Materials Handling and Logistics part of the company.
Designed the code for a metal power feeder and laser using Visual Basic on Visual Studio for the National Research Council. The system utilized a metal powder feeder, laser and motion setup for advanced 3d printing metal manufacturing. The program had to control paramters such as metal type, flow rate, laser intensity, etc. The system utilized g-code to move a cnc machine to draw out the manufactured item. I can't provide code for this system because it is proprietary to the NRC.
Utilized Altium to design 4 layers PCB layout for the brushless DC motor driver board for an electric vehicle. Completed calculations and design simulations to assess power needs and choose optimal components for the circuit. Developed applications and modifications for electronic properties used in components, products, or systems to improve techinical performance.
